Artist Yael Kanarek was the visionary, who regendered the Torah, imagined those texts set to music and chant, and this is the first album and concert manifested, and 10 artists will gather to share their songs. Honored to a part of it.

Duet Lunch Concert at Yiddish New York
An amazing collaboration creating new settings of Yiddish poet Itzik Manger’s (1901-1969) irreverent collection Khumesh-lider (Bible Songs, published in Warsaw in 1935).
Schechter is joined by the sparkling Brooklyn guitarist Avi Fox-Rosen, well-known to fans as co-leader (with Sarah Gordon) of the pioneering rock band Yiddish Princess.
Klezmer Shabbos at Romemu Brooklyn
YNY is excited to join with Congregation Romemu in Brooklyn for a special klezmer kabbalat shabbat program. Hazzan Basya Schechter has cooked up a shabes service spiced with Hasidic nigunim, klezmer tunes and even melodies borrowed from your favorite Yiddish songs.
